The way we see it - Jodi’s world - Our offerings

————

You are free-spirited, want to have fun but ultimately have a fine taste.

A feeling of awe when you touch each other.

You see things differently and you want your wedding day to reflect that.

There’s a sparkle in your eye when you look at one another.

You fell madly in love and you have a desire to be seen for who you are.

You’ve built a relationship that deserves the attention of careful observation to tell it right.

We’re here for the lovers, the unique and the ones who still value their tradition.

You want to look back on your wedding and see how it made you feel more alive.

You want to feel relaxed, present and joyful.

Our true passion lies in the art itself, we’re not seeking online validation, we want to tell your unique story.

We’re observant storytellers. We collect our images without saying too much, simply letting them speak for themselves.

In the soft, stillness of a silent moment or the infectiousness and weightlessness of laughter, the tears that spill out of a spring within and, the way a face changes, the head tilts, the pupils dilate or the simplicity of touch. We are watching, and taking notes with our cameras.

It’s a perspective, the way we see the world, that we want to share.

A fine blend of photojournalism and art.

Timeless moments and meaningful experiences that define who you are.

I am quiet and subtle, Observant and perceptive.

I try to be someone I would enjoy being around on such an important day.

When you book me, I’ll be there for you. I set up a direct line of contact where you can reach me anytime with anything big or small, It’s how we build our rapport and let the barriers between us come down so you feel relaxed on the day to be yourself.

On the day, I’m not directing in a way that steals the show or shooting photos that simply tick the boxes.

I’m constantly observing and trying to move gracefully. Everything I perceive is going in and forming an understanding of how the day feels, who played certain roles and importantly where was the love? what was the evidence of what this couple made together?

I love this job, it is my art. My role is to observe, be fully present, and artfully document what naturally unfolds around me. I look for signs of life and evidence of actual experiences to tell the day truthfully.

I don’t want this site to be a sales pitch, or to lead to a sterile transaction. I hope you’re here because you’re looking for something different than the performative standards of wedding photography.

Hey, I’m Jodi

My passion for photography started as a form of expression and finding a sense of connection.

After suffering from a sever brain injury at the age of 13 and spending a lot of time recovering at home, I discovered a point-and-shoot camera that belonged to my parents.

I began photographing my friends doing things I use to once be apart of. This was my way of feeling a sense of connection and a way of maintaining those friendships.

Fast forward a few years and I was photographing 18th birthday’s and house parties. This went on for 5 years. I must say, I really enjoyed this time of my life. I photographed these parties with no real intention or expectations. I wanted to document everything that took place around me, those in-between moments that slip by unnoticed.

It wasn’t until I sat down with my mentor and realised I was documenting life and how people connect and expressed themselves.

And to this day, that is something that I am naturally intrigued by and gravitate towards.

Offerings

We have packages for every kind of offering, from vow renewals or elopements to mega 400+ guest weddings.

Every package includes a few important things that we have identified.

A direct line of contact with your photographer via Whatsapp. This is a space where your story unfolds with all the little thoughts that come to mind about the weather-dependent changes that may arise. This is an important way for us to break down our “professional” barriers of access to us. Our service is very personal and your needs matter. We always respond when we have time to give it and we enjoy this process.

Unlimited consultations in person or via video chat, to your needs. There are two crucial meetings that we will instigate at the beginning of our journey together and Another one right before your day.

A personal and private online gallery with a curated slideshow built in.

This gallery can be shared with family, friends and other vendors (It also has a feature where you can hide images if you need to) You can use AI to search for people’s faces if you need a collection to craft a Mother’s Day post.

You can also order any prints you may need directly from this gallery and an app can be saved on your phone which will store all of your photos in a cloud giving you access to them whenever you need them without clogging up your phone space.

Handcrafted editing by JODI.

Unfortunately, a hidden production secret in the “world of wedding photography” is automation. Presets draped over every image without considering how the lighting is affecting the colour changes. AI is now editing photos which further removes the photographer from the nuances and choices pivotal in curating a story. Then there is the shipping of images overseas to third-world countries that probably use AI themselves (Fair enough) for the cost of a pub meal.

We avoid these because this part of the process is incredibly enjoyable and important.

The variables exist in the hours of coverage needed and whether or not a second photographer is needed on the day.

If this sounds like something you’re into you can send us a request for the pricing.

This information will include more about our other photographers, shooting on-film options, more testimonies from our couples and all the other print options for you.
